PAINT HORSES
Big
Oaks Ranch is the home and training ground of dependable ranch
horses. We imprint our foals as soon as they are born. Our foals
are halter trained, trailer trained, and can be tied by three days old. These willing natured foals
grow into "How can I please you?" working horses. They
are beautiful horses that are both a pleasure and an asset. Danny
Burrows trained the first five Paint foals born on Big Oaks Ranch based on the principles of Charles O.
Williamson. The follow-on training was continued by Danny
Burrows on Big Oaks Ranch working cattle and general ranch work and
riding. We have sold four of our original five foals and
Ranger is the only original gelding left at Big Oaks Ranch. We
now have a new crop that includes Star,
Stellar, and Swift.
The sire for 2002 - 2003 and 2010 was SHOTS FLYING SPARK (link
to sire). "Sparky" is owned by Edney Paint Horses of
Gladewater, TX. The sire for 2009 was HESQ AMIGOS SPIN CITY,
owned by Hesskew Paints and Quarter Horses of Canton, TX
